A real and rare piece of petroleum industry history, it was the first floating and moveable offshore drilling rig. In addition to tours, it is now being used as a training facility and filming location. Highlights include crew quarters, dive trailer, and explanation of the drilling process. When we visited it was not busy and walked right onto a tour. The guides were in the industry. I recommend this tour for anyone interested in industrial history and even those who are not. Be sure to call ahead.
Very interesting. There are many steps on open grids (the small see through type). Very safe.
Excellent tour. Learned way more than I expected. Tour lasted about 1.25 hours. Definitely worth the time. Do not take a big RV because parking area is small and you drive through small residential area. Be careful following GPS. There is a bridge with less than 10 foot clearance to avoid.
Very informative tour at a very unique industrial museum.
Randy gave a great tour. The history of this rig is a must experience. If you are in this area plan to see how it works. Glad to have met Randy and can not wait to see the movie he produced on the rig. Best of me by Nick Sparks.
